The brief
Set deeper into the garden
Howard and Suzy knew they wanted a BANYA, but weren’t sure where it should sit. With three possible locations around the property, Nic visited the site to work through the options with them.
The final decision was to place the sauna deeper into the garden, surrounded by nature. Set beneath the trees, the BANYA became part of the landscape rather than simply an addition to the house.
They chose our 4–6 person Wood-Fired Barrel, with a dome back window that opens the sauna onto the garden and brings the surrounding trees into the experience. They also opted for a porch, creating a natural place to sit between sauna sessions.
The sauna is heated by a Harvia M3 wood-fired stove, giving them the full traditional wood-fired experience.
They named their BANYA “The Dream House” — because that’s what they do when they’re in there: dream.
